mixed and specials

In “mixed and specials” I show the hybrids of bag and basket I make. Historically, esparto grass was used for making a wide range of baskets. My apprenticeship began with basket making but as I explored the possibilities of the material I got more and more inspired to design bags. The idea that people walk around with a grass bag of mine showing it to the world is like having an open-air gallery worldwide – a very attractive and stimulating thought. In “mixed and specials” you will find baskets and basket-bags in a wide range of forms and volumes and also special bags, a combination of grass and fabrics.
